The region is scattered with ancient ruins of a time before the great flood that turned the area into an inland sea for almost a century and then slowly receeded leaving what we now know as the Floodlands. |

Over the years it has become a haven for those who are running from the law or need a place to hide. The land is fertile and sorely missed by the Westfold but too few work it under the current leadership of the region. The armies of the Westfold run regular campaigns in the region in an attempt to wear down the rebels and their pirate supporters but to date have been turned back each time. |

The Free Shores in the south are a pox on the kingdom but the free peoples there are seen as little more than an inconvenience. |
