PANTHEON
THE TWELVE EDICTS
I. Honor the Light that Gives Life.
Whether sun, flame, star, or sacred grove, revere the forces that sustain the world, and do not defile them through greed or neglect.
II. Let Oaths Be Iron.
Swear no vow lightly. An oath broken rends the fabric of trust that binds kingdom to kingdom and soul to soul.
III. Harm Not the Helpless.
The weak, the young, the aged, and the unarmed are under the protection of the realm itself.
IV. Wield Power with Restraint.
Magic, steel, and authority alike must be tempered with wisdom. Power without restraint becomes tyranny.
V. Respect the Balance of Nature.
Take what you need from field, forest, sea, and sky—but give back in stewardship, lest famine and fury answer you.
VI. Seek Justice Before Vengeance.
Let law and truth guide your hand. Revenge breeds endless blood; justice restores peace.
VII. Speak Truth, Especially When It Is Hard.
Falsehood spreads rot in courts and cottages alike. Truth is the cornerstone of a stable realm.
VIII. Defend the Realm Against Darkness.
When shadow rises—be it monster, corruption, or wicked ambition—stand against it, for evil thrives in silence.
IX. Honor All Peoples of the Realm.
Elf, dwarf, human, halfling, or stranger from distant lands—judge not by blood, but by deed.
X. Guard Knowledge, Do Not Hoard It.
Wisdom is a torch meant to be passed onward. Let learning uplift the realm, not serve only the powerful.
XI. Let Mercy Temper Judgment.
Even the fallen may rise again. Grant redemption where it is deserved.
XII. Leave the Realm Brighter Than You Found It.
Through courage, craft, compassion, and sacrifice, add to the world’s light rather than diminish it.
